Not Just Standing, but Walking
|Not Just Standing, but Walking|
Studies have, for years, indicated the impacts of sitting for long periods of time and how detrimental it is to our bodies. Because of this, many people have tried transitioning to standing while working, but is standing enough?
Treadmill desks that allow walking motion while working have been shown to be beneficial to those able to make use of them, but that has typically been limited to those that work from home. A new study has shown the impact of using treadmill desks on workplace productivity and is convincing enough to indicate why it’s worth it to a company’s bottom dollar to provide walking stations for the entire office.
According to the study, workers should actually experience a 10% increase in productivity and a reduction in healthcare costs. Also, no one should mind burning a few calories while working, either. You can check out the study here.
